You could use any fruit you like. Mix and match depending on what you have at hand or the seasonal availability of produce. But the combination of the fruit in this salad is one of my favorites.

Cotton Candy Grapes®

This dish’s standout “star” is the addition of Cotton Candy® grapes. These newer, super sweet grapes deliver a distinctive flavor that will evoke memories. Unfortunately, they’re only available for a limited time (mid-August through mid-September), so be sure to get them while you can. The rest of the ingredients in this salad are just as delicious and include fresh berries, mango, and kiwi. The combination of flavors is heavenly, and it’s sure to become a new favorite.

Cotton Candy® grapes may not be available at your local supermarket or farmers’ market. In that case, using any green grapes will also result in a fantastic fruit salad.

Cotton Candy® grapes are not genetically modified food. Instead, their unique taste results from selective natural cross-breeding practices conducted over many years. This new variety of grapes, which tastes like spun cotton candy, is a hybrid between the common grape and a type of Concord grape. Unlike cotton candy, though, they aren’t packed with sugar and calories.

Ingredients To Use For Fresh Fruit Salad

  • Green Grapes (if possible, use Cotton Candy® Grapes)
  • Pineapple
  • Mango
  • Strawberries
  • Kiwis
  • Greek Yogurt, plain
  • Limes
  • Mint
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Honey
  • Ground Cinnamon

How To Make Fresh Fruit Salad

  • Prepare the yogurt dip by combining all the Greek yogurt, honey, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Cover and place in refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Half the grapes. Cut the mango, pineapple, and strawberries into chunks. Slice the kiwi.
  • Combine the prepared grapes, pineapple, and mango into a large glass or another non-reactive bowl. Add pineapple juice, lime zest and juice, and mint to the bowl and toss to combine.
  • For additional sweetness, drizzle the mixture with honey and gently stir to combine, if desired.
  • Chill the fruit mixture in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Place prepared strawberries in a separate container to chill at the same time.
  • Once chilled, remove fruit salad and strawberries from the refrigerator and add strawberries and freshly sliced kiwi to the bowl.
  • Gently stir to combine and serve immediately with honey-yogurt dip on the side.

Notes And Tips

Make-Ahead

This recipe can be made ahead of time.

For the best presentation, do not add the strawberries to the salad until just before serving. Otherwise, the lighter-colored fruits will get stained by the bright red color of the berries.

Also, to prevent browning, slice and add kiwi to the bowl just before serving.
